one of first bridges in area part of state road metal one built 1885 picture in IoA evansville book bridge in 1890 map stayed open during flood. water over floor of bridge inspected daily by engineers article says still around 1941 new span proposed 1947 but stalled new one under construction 1950 new opened 12.22.1950
