st john evangelical organized 1850 3rd and ingle started edge of city (8th and chandler?) cornerstone june 1 1851 dedicated nov 28 1852

parsonage 1867

"old school hall" at left dates back to 1868 at 28-32 2nd av / Market St corner Ingle

storm tore down steeple and rebuilt 1893 in 1884 sanborn but not 1888 map (one on school, misdrawn?) gothic revival with 2 square towers erected (larger one at left/NE)

parish hall at right built 1921, remodeled 1947

parsonage torn down 1948

remodeled c1951 with stone facade

addition/remodel? 1965 probably when old school was torn down
