kansas school (no 8) NE corner kansas and green river in blue grass creek valley "kansas flats" center twp block 24 of 1876 map built on land donated by kinlock mcjohnston <1875 probably soon after civil war 1884 new building erected open fall for classes in 1880 and 1899 atlas consolidated into mccutchanville 1917 closed for several years later opened as a school for negros (still school 1930s) abandoned when enrollment too small for sale 1930 later used as a negro church later residence later granary 1940 demolished
